"Hey! And, welcome back to No Limit, where we cover the most extreme sports from all across the nation! I'm here talking with the son the founder of today's hottest sport, Air Boarding. Let's give a big round of applause for Flash!" The cameras zoom out from the exuberant host and reveals the special guest he was speaking of. A young wind-armor is sitting in the arm chair adjacent to the host. "Thanks for having me on the air today, Jim." says Flash with a large grin on his face. He loved attention and now, here he was on his favorite network. "Well, it's my pleasure! So, Flash, we've all heard the rumors. Is it true that you now run the family business? What happened to dear old dad?" "It's true, I'm now the proud owner of Harkin Boards." Flash looks out across the audience. "My father, this is actually quite amusing, but my father retired because my mother was fed up with him spending so much time at work with his boards instead of with her!" the audience laughs and Flash can't help but love it more. "So, now they're both out somewhere in a remote island living it up and riding the currents like the good old days." "Isn't that the life! Congrats on the inheritance." "Thanks Jim." "Back to our rumors, we have information from our sources that say you're looking to recruit members to join an A.IR. Team?" "Your sources would be correct. This weekend up at the ILMATAR I'll be holding a tournament for anyone who thinks they've got what it takes to go pro and join the team. So, come up and try out or just enjoy watching the riding!" "That's sounds great! I'm sure you'll have plenty who'll want to show their stuff. You heard it folks! This weekend up at the ILMATAR, Harkin Boards is having a tournament...." ---------- That was two days ago, now Flash is on the ILAMTAR preparing for the tournament. Already people were piling in, the apartments filling up fast. Flash was walking around checking on the registration tables and chatting with some of the contestants. Everything seemed to be in order so he decided to go out on the upper deck to catch some currents before the tournament. When he got outside the weather was perfect. He hoped it stayed this nice throughout the weekend. He looked around and watched the other boarders. There was a lot of talented people, but Flash had been on boards his entire life. Before he could walk his father had taken him out to ride around, much to his mother's disapproval, and when he was few years old he rode as well as he walked. A.IR. is his life.

Avira sighed as she finished tweaking her new board. She decided to take it out for a test drive. She quickly dressed in her gear, and grabbed her helmet and board. She walked out into the hallway and locked the door to her room on the ILMATAR.
She made her way through the intricate corridors, dodging people along the way. This place got so crowded ever since the announcement for A.IR. board members. She had already registered for the competition. She ducked as some guy's A.IR. board flew over her head. Unfortunately most of the people here turn out to be talentless jerks who think they're better then everyone else.
Avira walked out to the main deck, and got her gear set up. "Well here goes everything." She put her helmet on and jumped off the deck, board in hand . To other people it might have looked like she was tyring to commit suicide or something. As she was free falling quickly through the air she strapped her feet into the board, then expertly controlled the wind to flow, slowing her fall and steering her board up. She flew around for a while, getting used to her new board and all it's quirks. I'd call this new board a success! She smiled brightly, happy with her new gear.
She flew over to some people, and joined a couple of races. She went easy on them, but still won all of the races. She gave the riders a couple of tips, then flew off to practice by herself for a while.

Flash was about to jump on his board when a black blur passed him. He watched it as it sped off doing complicated twists and turns. "Huh, they're pretty good, and it looks like it's just a kid!" He threw on his helmet and decided to follow and watch them some more. He observed the races, the unknown black racer winning every time. When the other boarder had flown off to practice by them self, Flash went in the same direction so he could meet the mystery rider. He actually found it harder then he thought to follow the riders quick movements, but he liked a challenge, they didn't come by often. Flash rode along side for a while matching each move they made and eventually motioned for the boarder to pull over. When they did eventually stop he noticed the other rider was a girl, and when she pulled off her helmet she looked oddly familiar. Where had he seen her before?

Avira saw the tall rider following her and decided to mess with them a bit. She flew in quick, complex movements that kept her ahead of the other rider. She was having fun as he caught up and started matching her movements. She was glad of the challenge.
When he signaled to pull over, she slowed down her board. She pulled off her helmet, and stepped out of the feet straps, and sat down on her board, her feet swinging back and forth in the air. They were floating about 200 feet above the airship.
"You must be the famous Flash Harkin. We've never formally met." She smiled at him. "You're a pretty good boarder."

Flash pulled off his helmet and smiled, "Ah, yes, that would be me" He said doing a cheesy pose, "Thanks. You've got a lot of talent too." He laughed sitting down on his board as well. "Nice board, custom I assume?" He looked at her closer, the face seemed so familiar, the eyes, she reminded him of an Engineer that worked at Harkin Boards His father had been good friends with him and Flash had known him quite well too. "I know I've seen you before, does your dad work for me at HB?"

"Thanks, glad you could keep up." She said in a light teasing tone. She patted her board affectionately. "Yup, just finished tweaking it this afternoon. This is the first test run." She looked up at him when he mentioned her father. "Yeah, so you remembered me huh? My dad works as an enginneer and designer. I've seen you around before, our dads are friends. I think my parents are visiting your's on the island right now. Something about living it up and riding the currents like the good old days I think..." She laughed.

Flash couldn't help but laugh, "Ah, yeah the good old days, before children. Well, it looks like your board runs great..." He paused trying to remember her name, A-something.. Ari? Avi... Avira! right, right. " ...Avira right?" He stood up and slipped his feet into the straps, "Wanna test that board out some more?" He asked putting his helmet on and, falling backward dropping altitude quickly pulling up only when dangerously close to the ground, then swinging around to the right and up to pass Avira again. "Come on let's go!"

"Yeah, before their offspring ruined everything right?" Avira laughed. "You remembered my name huh? Yup, Avira Umbra. And sure, it could use a second test run." She stood up and strapped in, putting her helmet on. "Okay, okay! I'm coming!" She gave her board a sudden burst of speed, passing him. As she passed, she grabbed onto his hand, and dragged him along on the current. "Keep up would you?" She yelled to him, laughing. Then shot foreward again, letting go of his hand.

"Whoa, jeeeeeez!" He flipped forward from the sudden change in speed when Avira let go, but kept in control of his board. "Haven't you ever heard of keeping your hands to yourself?" He yelled ahead. "Huh, so you like speed do ya?" He bent down and tightened his foot straps, then put on a burst of speed following in her draft. Eventually he was able to pull up behind her and dropped down underneath her board, then pulled up in front of her.

She laughed as he flipped. "Nope? What's that?" She sped forward until he caught up and passed her. She pulled up until she was directly above him. Then she flipped, so she was riding upside down with her face right in front of his. "Gravity. It's more of a guideline then a rule huh?" She righted herself, dropped down, and caught his current, and merged it with her own, shooting ahead.

"Neat trick," Flash said as he pulled up beside her. "Watch this," Flash cut in front of her, blasted a current of air behind him pushing her off course and boosting him forward. He started climbing upwards, climbing, and gaining more altitude. He loved going high. Everything is so much more peaceful from up above. He closed his eyes when he peaked his climb, almost coming to a complete stop. He took a deep breath, the best part was about to come. The fall. His eyes shot open and he tucked in close to his board. The speed was so great, the thrill so high! If anyone could see his face, his grin stretched from ear to ear. "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"

She was pushed off course doing a spin, but ducked and used her smallness to avoid most of the blast. She followed him up and watched him drop, then dropped herself. She folded her body as close to the board as she could get to reduce the drag, and soon was falling with him. "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" She laughed as they dropped, it was so much fun. They were nearing the ground now.

Flash turned his head as Avira pulled into view, now it was a game of who pulled up first. This could end badly with both their reckless and daring personalities. 400ft, no sign of movement. Their speed was incredible, if he was going to stop in time he would have to pull up now or never. He was going really fast... maybe too fast. He might have to pull out his built in parachute, haha yeah right. The only parachute he had was his wings. If he just brought his wings out spread eagle they'd probably rip right off. The ground was coming in EXTREMELY fast, just as he liked it. If he just opened them, just a bit, just a tiny bit. Maybe.... And as soon as air could lift underneath his feathers he angled himself outward and up. Now how's that for steering? Though, his speed was still extremely fast, now he just had to dodge the other riders. Fun.

Avira looked to flash, and saw him pull up. She decided now was probably a good time to stop speeding towards the ground... She freefell about half a second more, then managed to get her board parallel to the ground, and tilted the air flow around her so she was angled and not falling straight towards the ground, as the ground came at her she angled just enough to miss it, and avoid scraping her board against a boulder, and start back upwards. She had a huge smile on her face as she wove around the other boarders, still at an extremely high speed. She spotted flash and caught up to him. "That was awesome! Oh, and I do believe I won that game of chicken." She laughed.

Successfully dodging the others he was able to slow down and have Avira catch up. "Yeah, I guess I will except defeat before one of us gets killed or has to be scraped off the ground here. But next time I won't let you off as easy." He said laughing. "That was a great fall, eh?" Then his watch beeped, "Aww man, sorry I gotta go. Bussiness to take care of." He sighed he wished he could ride more but with the tournament and running the Harkin bussiness he never had as much time to air board as he wanted to, "I hoped you're signed up for the competition tomorrow? It'd be great if you were on the team. You definately got what it takes."
